One early summer sunrise, the members of Circus Scamper awoke to the sound of a girl’s joyful laughter. They sleepily stumbled from their tents and caravans, following the sound until they discovered the giggling pixie dancing amongst a grove of trees. Intrigued by her energy and movements, the amused artists adopted the pixie into the family. From that day she was christened Kinetic Kristen and given a silver hoop with which to continue her unique, contemporary dance style inside the performance arena.
Since her chance encounter with Circus Scamper, Kinetic Kristen has continued along her path of circus & cabaret artistry, adding aerial fabric, dance trapeze, fire and acrobatics to her diverse talents. She dazzled audiences in several Music City Burlesque productions, including the “Third Annual Boolesque at the Belcourt” and 2011’s “Guilty Pleasures,” and performs for audiences as diverse as art gallery openings to kick-off celebrations, theater productions and Zombie Proms. When off-stage, Kinetic Kristen enjoys perusing the prose of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, sipping on rum and absinthe and preparing for the zombie apocalypse.
